TESTING phase of "Option Selling" starts from today

From today Testing phase of trading range through option selling starting for me!

I will be doing paper trades for a month and real trades with 10% of capital for 1 month and include this strategy into my trading arsenal provided it yield better results.

Today is good day to start with, as NF struck in 50 point range whole day.
Below screenshots should be self explanatory.

I will put a detailed post later once i gather confidence in this area.

So, to summarize.. so far my way of trading range with selling CALL and PUT is...


1.  Identify location/reason to anticipate range move
2. Sell CALL and PUT (which combination to use, is some thing i need dig deep)
3. Exit one of sold option once BOF happened at RH/RL
4. Ride other one till other extreme tested/broken

Also one can wear OPTION BUYER cap,, once price broke out of range on either side and about to make trend move (this is where your price read, ongoing trend etc.. DP concepts should guide)

I am no expert in this option selling area, today is my first day of testing phase.
Hopefully this exercise will yield good strategy, as options are designed to favor sellers,, specially in range bound days/phase.

Market Commentary

9:45 AM :  

NF opened gap up and DO=DH

I was expecting a long and break through earlier peak, but selling from opening time
forced to change view now

Placed BOF of PDH/BRN Short order below DL

Long bias only after crossing DO=DH as of now

If price choose to form range before making any move. Will wait on sidelines

9:56 AM :

Now range forming, will keep my buy order for PUT active till NF move beyond 11089
(PB high after making DL in 3rd candle)

10:06 AM:

Cancelled PUT buy order

Now i will wait for PA at extremes,, DH/DL or IR.

Let the market tell us what to do next.. Will it break out of range and ask us to trade in direction of BO
or it will tell us to fade extremes and do range play. Lets see!

11:20 AM:

NF attempted to break DL, but failed to sustain.

Will see PA once it crossed PDH (also smaller RH), if a long possible above 11100 with FTA DH,,
can take it. Will decide depend on how price approach there.

1:13 PM:

Attempted short below RL, when price seems to be sustaining below the level which
it took support for longer time.

But it failed to move, scratched.

Now, will wait for PA at PDL-11100 zone

So, today is seller’s day.

As per above plan, took CE once price accepted above PDH-BRN,
added more once it got accepted above DH.. but it failed to move further. Exited with loss.

Market Commentary

9:25 AM :  

NF opened above PDH

Skipped BPB of PDH Long as i expect some range bound moment today after good trend day yesterday

Will prefer to buy at RL’s as long as price stay above PDH

10:40 AM:

BOF of DL/PDH/NS BRN 11000 happened

Took position in 10900 CE with SL below DL

Expecting move till DH; depend on how it reaches and if price sustain above DH,, will add more longs

1 PM:

Exited Call when price got rejected at DH in NF, NS didn’t even attempted to make new high

Now will wait for PA in zone of DL-PDH-NS BRN 11k

1:20 PM:

Expected a move till lower extreme, but NF moving towards DH again.

Will see if decisive BO happen this time. Will only take Long if BO happen in both NF and NS

2:45 PM:

I was waiting for BO above DH, BOF happened. Skipped trading short, also move was sharp.

2:50 PM:

Closing the day as not expecting any fresh trades now

Nifty : 05 - Mar - 2019

Market Commentary

9:30 AM :  

NF opened below PDL and quickly back into PDR

BOF of PDL happened, didn’t taken long when it broke IRH as FTA BRN very near.

Will wait for some consolidation or a re-test to PDL

9:48 AM:

Marked DH into chart.

Will look for long after price break DH, preferably entry above BRN

Else if, price PB’ed till PDL and reversing from there.. Long possible

Else if price got accepted below PDL, start looking for short

11:46 AM:

Took long above PDC and added more as BPB of PDH

No momentum happened after second position

Scratched newly added position and holding old position with SL near to cost now

Will look to add fresh once price break DH-10942 Zone strongly.

As of now, it looks like price forming BW around PDH

2:04 PM:

Moving SL below swing low’s forming as Nifty moving Up
